T0606SW.SGREEN FOPATENT.M   Attractive brown saltglazed stoneware  widemouth utility jar with patent closure lip grooves (for metal clamp device), Impressed upper body "FO/PATENT" in serif and sans serif caps. (Ive seen several with different initials but the "PATENT" stays the same... and low body the company oval impression "STEPHEN GREEN & Co/GLASS LINED INSIDE/LAMBETH".c1850. Crudely glazed flat base. straight sides, sloped shoulders short wide neck topped with tooled squared grooved lip. Cordoned shoulders and ropework boder just below shoulder. Various typical little touchmarks and glaze inconsistencies and marks. Chip to base glazed over and further chip/flake approx 1"x 1 1/2". Otherwise good. 7"high, 4 5/8"diameter. Rare large size.  £95
