R1002SW.BELL3MEDALCOFA.M    Great form very bulbous bodied brown saltglazed stoneware Bellarmine c1550 with benign face and deep flowing beard. Three large oval very detailed coats of arms as yet unidentified, overall contrasting brown speckled tigerglaze over grey background, wide rough wirecut foot showing traces of square kiln stand, short wide neck, toppedwith simple cordoned lip. Somewhat crude rounded handle applied with plain v tail. 8 1/2"high, 7"diameter. Boken into 4 or 5 large fragments,repieced and restored with some small areas replaced, Displays excellently.  £sold
