R0701SW.WESTERWALDNOGR.M  Extreme rare early westerwald handled jug c1720 Baluster bodied with wide reeded cylindrical neck coloured in manganese purple. Rounded foot cordoned simply. Body with overal scraffito decoration of large central petalled form with small centrepiece and floral swashes and flourishes either side. Various of the scrafito produced panels coloured in cobalt blue glaze.  Strong handle with tail and pinhole to top. Overall good condition, glaze worn smooth. 5"high, 3 3/4"diameter. flake to rear foot edge but glazed over. £275
