S0421SW.DWIGHTCORD.M    Extremely rare and desirable earliest English saltglaze stoneware Dwight manufacture of London, baluster bodied bottle c1700. Superb colouring Dark lightly metallic brown upper body over ochre /grey lower body. Near flat base on lightly outurning foot, into deep belly rounding and sloping into short widebased tapering neck finishing in multicordoned below lip and bold downtooled top lip. Some small patches of glaze loss/touchmarks, rubs off glaze around lip highlights etc, some drips of running colour and glaze, some super tight surface hairlines throughout...lovely crudity and rusticity, has been well used but is perfectly good, excellent colonial household addition. 8 5/8"high, 5 1/4"diameter    £ SOLD
