V0703SW.BELLARMCONHEAD.M   Classic German Saltglazed stoneware Bellarmine c1600/1650, typical elongated baluster form with  wide flat wirecut base with square kiln furnniture marking, rough base edge, overal brown speckled tigerglaze, grimacing symbolic face with unusual cone type hat, long tapering neck with wide base topped with cordoned lip. Strong long arched handle, with long v tailpiece. Heavy attractive orange peel glaze overall. Small touchmarks to opposite body sides and one lip side, small surface flake above roundel which is a stylised florate medallion with impressed border, small chip to lowest neck cordon one side.
