W0331C.GRMUSTARDELFT.M A very early Dutch delft handled mustard jar in a light grey/blue glaze with 'G R' initials on front (likely King George I (c1714-27 due to style of pot). Naive leaf/floral decoration in hand brushed blue. Overall elongated baluster form with flat base. Rounded edge foot. Short little handle and heavily reeded cylindrical neck. Rarer with 'GR' initials. c1710-20's. 170mm high,83mm diameter. Fair/Good Has a medium (10mm x 20mm) old chip on the base edge at the front, some of the usual (sometimes heavy) glaze wear on top of lip, side of handle, thin ring above base and high points of reeded neck (but surprisingly less so on the base or base edge, where it's more in-manufacture glaze miss/runs). This wear is not untypical in this sort of early delft glaze and is otherwise very ggod with just some fine glaze crazing in places (but no cracks etc) 170mm high, 83mm diameter. £495
