T0601S.CAREWHALFONION.M Delightful halfsized English freeblown blackglass (mid olive green) onion of pancake form c1705, deep kickup with rough sand pontil and quatreform mollette mark, flat rounded sagged body, sloped shoulders into wide based scooping neck through crudely applied v section stringrim below snapped off firesmoothed lip. Sealed to mid body/shoulder mostly well lipped seal with lion passant in ships mainmast with eight palisadoes, the crest of the Carew Family of Anthony House, Torpoint Cornwall. Full original surface gloss, striated neck, flake approx 1/4"diameter flake off underside of stringrim. nibble off bottom of seal edge.
