T0909SW.MASONMALLCERAMIC.M Fascinating very crudely potted glazed and decorated ceramic Masonic whisky bottle with applied and slip decorated masonic and farming related sprigs. As yet unidentified redware pottery but certainly early 1800s. Flat based turned redware form with dotted base border, plain redware sides of traditional mallet form, to lipped flat shoulder, with leaning bulged neck with cordons halfway finished in rounded lip at top. Shoulder and neck glazed with a dark brown heavy glaze. sprigs with cream glaze and then an overall thick clear glaze. Light crazing to some glaze. just two highpoints chipped off sprigging slightly, otherwise amazngly excellent.. 7 5/8"high, 5 3/8"diameter £sold
