R1004SW.MANBARRELREF.M   Rare cream saltglazed stoneware "Man on a Barrel" flask c1830, the barrel impressed front "ALL ROUND MY BAR/ANDERSON/GOOD CUSTOMERS I SEE" and on reverse "ALL ROUND MY HAT/I WEARS A GREEN WILLOW" in serif caps. Classic farmer type figure with buttoned coat, one hand in pocket, one thumb tucked in front, neckerchief, rustic face with floppy hat with willow leaves wrappedaround. Some restoration, possibly to neck and front base chip maybe restored but excellently done. Otherwise really good example that displays perfectly. 8 3/8"high, 3 7/8"x2"diameter  £220
