V0719.WESTERWALDCHAMBER.M Rare saltglazed westerwald stoneware chamberpot c1725-1650. Light grey body with applied naive lion sprigs surrounded with cobalt blue handrawn decorated borders, and two scraffito florate elements/ Blue borders top and bottom/ Flat base, reeded foot and lip with outflared and flattened lip above. Strong ribbed handle with pleasing kickback to bottom tail. Light kiln marks. Two restored cracks over body, well restored.
