U2008.DIVEDBLOBBEDCYLINDER.M   Fascinating great character diver salvaged freeblown blackglass (dark olive green) English cylinder c1780 with unusual additional blob of glass to shoulder appearing initially something like a seal, but with two trails of glass leading off proving it to be an accidental adhesion. Further charactersupplied by overal waterworn matte and lightly eaten layer surface together with many light traces of coral encrustation. Original crack to rear shoulder and neck which has been filled with encrustation. Deep kickup with sand pontil, sagged base, slightly leaning body, rounded flattened shoulders into long tapering neck through very crudely applied deep downtooled collar stringrim, well below out-turned over lip.
