U1001SW.WAYTEGRACECHSTSHOP.M   heavily sprigged early saltglazed stoneware shop jar c1830 with William IV coat of arms surmounted by large, deep andflorate banner reading "WAYTE.No5.GRACECH.ST" in bold serif caps all heavily pronounced. Overall grey/buff colour, flat base and straight sides,annular rilling marks near top of body and string groove just under lip. Usual very small touchmarks and rustic crudity. Easily one of the most magnificent of shop jars.  6"high, 4 3/8"diameter   £sold
