X0303SW.GRMUSTARD.M English saltglazed Staffordshire copy of a westerwald style handled mustard jug c1775. footed baluster shape with wide cylindrical rilled neck, central body oval appliad medallion with profile of George II with Crown with foliage above and below and letters "G.R" either side for George Rex. Flat base glazed, loosely inscribed foliage all around medallion, with even looser splashes of cobalt blue colour, and medallion picked out in blue colour likewise. Good arched handle applied with smoothed down terminals. Overall pale grey wash colour glaze with some of the neck rilling lines alsopicked out in cobalt blue. small hairline top and bottom of handle attachments, otherwise excellent. 6"high, 4"diameter £265
