W1011S.TCCAREWSEAL.M  Classic freeblown English blackglass (dark olive green) wine cylinder c1770 sealed high body, large seal with shield bearing Badge of Ulster (red hand) above the script initials "TC" for Thomas Carew of Haccombe House, Newton Abbot, Devon. Deep kickup with sand pontil, sagged base and straight sides up to dip mold shoulder then rounded shoulders into straight lightly tapering neck through fine collar stringrim immediately underneath heavy tooled over lip. Full original surface gloss, lightly bubbled and whittled, slight lean to body. Some internal dry residue. Excellent. 11"high, 3 7/10"diameter.   See Burton p1397  £295
