Q1020SW.WARRENSLGLET.M  Nice example classic large lettered brown saltglaze stoneware blacking jar c1820 impressed to lower body "WARRENS/LIQUID BLACKING/30 STRAND/BLACKING/BOTTLE" in large serif caps, complete, slightly faint but totally readable impression, and overall lovely  brown glaze to front and paler buff to rear. Good lean to body and straight but lightly tapering outwards to shoulder sides with pleasing distortion to right side and lean. Manufacture chip off rear base, otherwise excellent condition, and much character. Nice early shallow neck/mouth in proportion to tall leaning body, and typical thinner potting throughout. 4 7/8"high, 2 1/4"base diameter. £sold
