U0114SW.WARRENSBLACKING.M   Attractive early Warren's Blacking jar c1830 brown saltglazed stoneware impressed mid body "WARREN'S/LIQUID BLACKING,/14, St. MARTIN'S LANE/CHARING CROSS" in well reading serif caps. Iveral mid brown with good contrasting speckling, raised glazed base with rounded edge, straight sides to squared off shoulders sloping inwards to wide thin open mouth neck. Various small surface blows just adding to to the character, some superb fine restoration to the neck juncture that people handling disbelieved was there!!! otherwise excellent.  5 1/4"high, 2 1/2"diameter    £sold
