W0808SW.GRWESTERWALDGEOII.M   Excellent saltglazed blue/grey Westerwald German stoneware handle jug with large crowned "GR" above winged cherub cartouche surrounded all by foliage and within large oval laurel leaf border. Chequerboard scrafito design top and bottom of body, with dramatice scrafito symbolif foliage designs either side, picked out and filled in with cobalt against the grey background. Overall bold baluseter form with flat glazed base, straight wide mouth with deep rilling alway to lip coloured in managanese purple. Large tooled rounded handle applied, with "1/2" written slickly in cobalt underneath the handle tail. Excellent, no issues at all, c1740 George II. 10"high, 6 3/4"diameter   £sold
